eating disorders education for the whole school community

Introduction
Eating disorders are most common in young people aged 8-18 and with 5 children in every classroom suffering from a diagnosable mental illness, the likelihood is that somebody in your school is struggling with an eating disorder.
Why?
Many schools get in touch after a pupil has been hospitalised or had to take a leave of absence due to an eating disorder and they want to know how they can support that student’s transition back into the school community. Since the pandemic, I have also seen more and more schools come forward and say that they consider eating disorders to be an epidemic among young people.
How can you help?
I offer safe, effective training on how to spot the signs and symptoms of an eating disorder, what causes eating disorders, how to get a referral to services and how you can support a young person to recover for the whole school community including staff, parents and teachers.
